26.6.2009 - Over the weekend our second season regatta took place in Morges. Very good weather and wind conditions allowed the committee to start three legs on Saturday and three again on Sunday. The outstanding winner team was Andi together with his crew Micca on SUI10 which won four legs, had a third and a DNF due to the lost of their mast. On the second place we find Sandro and Simon on SUI801 in front of Beat and Jean-Richard on SUI113. Results.

Besides the A-Cats and Darts we could also welcome twelve 18HT at the starting line. Because of a, for the region rather unusual weather situation only one leg could be sailed on Saturday which was won by SUI10 with Andi Lutz and Michael Huber in front of the local brothers Simon and Michael Meyer on SUI97 and Daniel Schönthal together with Peter Blumenstein on SUI152. Furtheron we were very happy to see two new teams taking action into the races. With Oliver Kaderli together with Stefan Bommeli on SUI9 and Sandro Caviezel together with Simon Berchtold on SUI803 we could see one more Eagle and one more Ventilo in the regatta field. Further informations, all pictures taken by our new hous photographer Beat Käser as well as the ranking will follow these days. 29.1.2009 - From Sunday 19.4 to Thursday 23.4.2009 some of the 18HT sailors are preparing the 2009 season on the Lago di Garda together with Helge Sach, former F18 world champion and author of several catamaran books, as trainer. The agenda will start with an optional dinner at 6pm and the assembly starting at 7.30pm continued by the prize-giving of the 18HT Swiss Gul Cup 2008. Due to the fact that this will be a good opportunity to know a little more about the association and the heads behind, we invite all interested to join us. Additionally the assembly will be continued by a ski-weekend... Detailled informations may be asked by all non-members by sending us an e-mail on info@18ht.ch. 13.10.2008 - Request to change 18HT class rules. In several discussions the idea was brought up, to change the 18HT class rules in order to allow a jib sail for the same total sail area and this with the intention to get the 18HT more competitive in difficult conditions. During the 18HT Euro 2008 the idea was discussed in a wider forum with the decision that a survey of all 18HT owners should be carried out. Therefore we ask all owners of 18HT (even those who are not members of a class association) to send us via e-mail (info@18ht.ch) until the 30.11.2008 a response to the two questions below, adding a personnel justification as possible. In order to keep transparency, the association may publish all posts anonymous to the participants. Should the analysis of this survey bring up a clear need for a rule change, the International 18HT Association would elaborate corresponding proposals and bring them to vote. Question 1: Is there a need to adjust the rules in relation to the jib at a constant total sail area as it is defined today? Question 2: Should the rules be maintained as before? 1.6.2008 - We look back on two windy and exciting regatta-weekends in Morges and Biel. On both weekend, 8 teams of the Swiss 18HT Gul-Cup participated and we saw a lot of exciting races on the water with interesting one-to-one duels. After a dominating weekend in Morges, in Biel SUI10 (Lutz / Huber) fighted against technical problems (broken spinacker boom). The overall ranking was hard-fought between SUI99 (Gafner / Scheidegger) and SUI801 (Grepper / Schori) and decided at the end of the weekend due to a better void-result in benefit of SUI801. Onshore comradship was put in the foreground. Sunday afternoon, everybody left Biel with the feeling of an interesting and fair regatta-weekend. Our thanks goes to all participants and the respective race committees of Morges and Biel. We are looking forward to see you all in August on the Lake of Constance.
14.5.2008 - Italy is ready! The 18HT Euro 2008 will take place from the 3.9. to the 7.9.2008

We are convinced that our Italian friends will organize another exceptional sailing party for us. So
do not wait and register in order to give them an idea of the number of boats the may anticipate.
A postal mailing for all members will follow.
Motivation and purposes The Swiss 18HT Association aims the promotion of the 18HT class and its race calendar in Switzerland and the near european countries as well as the care of the comradely relationships among its members. The Swiss 18HT Association promotes the catamaran sport not only through the organisation of regattas and events but also through close relationships with other classes and associations. Besides the organization of races, the Swiss 18HT Association offers assistance in boat purchasing, organizes training sessions, holidays, different informative events and parties. Thereby always the fun and the care of friendships is put in center of attention. This site serves as platform for information exchange around the 18HT class in special and catamaran sailing in general. The Swiss 18HT Association makes an enormous effort to keep this site always up to date and this in the three languages German, French and English. Due to its limited ressources, errors may occur. We accept all critical remarqs and/or any improvement suggestions. For our italian spoken friends the fourth language is planned for the second release.
